Kritika is a YouTuber, content creator, and influencer. She has uploaded many videos on YouTube, which have helped her gain a lot of attention due to her hard work and talent. She currently lives in Mumbai and her dream is to “travel and explore the world.” She has over 100,000 fans on YouTube.

Let us know more about her from Kritika:

Q. Hey Kiki, Tell us something about you?

Alright. To keep it short, I’m basically a full-time YouTuber who creates videos on travel and lifestyle. What started off as a hobby a couple of years ago to get me through my 9-5 job ended up turning into my profession and I basically travel and make videos for a living now.

Q. How did you inspire to become a YouTuber?

Back when I was working, I just felt very dissatisfied and creatively uninspired with the way my life was, so I actually started a personal blog where I used to write about everything under the sun and it was a nice creative outlet for me. I also took to Instagram and started posting regularly there, and as someone who’d always been into photography, I enjoyed that a lot. Over time, I realized I was more of a visual person and preferred visual media like photos and videos more than I enjoyed writing, so after going back and forth on the idea for months, one weekend I finally decided to film a video and start my own YouTube channel.

Q. Why did you quit your job before becoming a YouTuber?

I didn’t actually, I did YouTube on the side for months before I quit my job and decided to take this up full-time. Yes, I eventually did quit because I sort of saw potential in doing YouTube full time and I’m glad I took that leap of faith.

Q. What are your goals and future plan?

Well, all my life I’ve actually had everything planned out for me and that didn’t really work well for me, so right now I’m just taking things as they come. My short-term goal is to continue working towards growing my channel. I’ve always thought of YouTube as my business so I want to keep growing this, hopefully, have a team, and work with some fun brands.

Q. How did you create yourself to travel and make videos on YouTube?

So when I started my channel, I didn’t intend to be posting only travel videos (in fact, I still don’t) but travel has always been an integral part of my life. So I went on a couple of trips during my initial days on YouTube and made vlogs about those trips, and realized I enjoyed making travel vlogs a lot. During the years when I was working, I couldn’t travel much because my days off were mostly spent visiting family back home so when I finally quit my job, I decided to fulfill my inner desire to travel and in turn, ended up making videos during those trips, and that’s just how it started. I think my first trip after I quit my job was to Thailand!

Q. How many countries have you explored, and what is to be explored in next?

To answer your question, I’ve been to 9 or 10 countries, and I feel I’ve barely scratched the surface of these countries because they all have so much to offer, so there’s a lot for me to explore. But I’d really like to go on a Euro trip sometime!

Q. Which was one of your favorite countries you like to visit again & why?

This is the most difficult question I get asked and I would honestly love to visit all the countries I’ve traveled to again but if I really had to pick just one, I’d say Iceland because of how unreal and beautiful it was!

Q. Apart from your career tell us something else or any incident you like to share?

Well, apart from travel and YouTube, I really enjoy reading, photography, and watching movies (I’m a huge movie buff)!

Q. Besides your career, what things do you like most and what makes you bored?

Routine bores me, I’m the kind of person who needs variety in life, and each week, I feel like I have a new hobby, so it’s very hard for me to pick just one thing I like the most, but I’ll probably go with coffee, books, and movies. 😃

Q. We all notice that you have been sponsored for travel. So tell us how the new creators can get the same?

Sure, so when you’re starting off, I don’t think brands will be reaching out to you, so you’ll have to put in the work and pitch to brands/hotels/travel companies and most likely work on a barter basis, by which I mean you create content for them or promote them on YouTube/social media in return for a free stay for example. This is a good way to build your portfolio and over time, once you grow your online presence, brands start reaching out to you and offering you free trips (it’s not really free though since you’ll be working in return for them) and even paying you to travel and create content for them.

At the end of the day, no one is going to give you things for free so you have to show to people what value you can provide to them.

Q.  How do you handle stress and pressure while traveling?

That’s an interesting question because most people just have this impression that because of all my traveling, my life is like one long holiday but that’s so far from true! I’m constantly working and filming while traveling, so travel has definitely not been the same since I started YouTubing. However, I enjoy filming so I don’t mind it at all. I think what works for me is to try to create a balance between working and enjoying while traveling because if you’re constantly worrying about getting the right shots, then I feel it’s such a waste of being there in that beautiful place. So I try to balance both, and then once I’m back home, I try to take a day off to just rest before I get to editing videos, so that keeps me going!

Q. Do your family supports you in choosing Youtube as a career?

Surprisingly, yes! I’d actually worked for 3-4 years after doing my postgrad and my plan was to apply to B schools. I’d even taken the GMAT. So when I decided not to apply to business schools and discussed with my parents about giving YouTube a shot, I wasn’t expecting them to be as supportive as they were, but they were very encouraging. I don’t think I’d be able to do what I’m doing now without their immense support! 😊

Q. Any message you want to convey to our audience and your fans?

I think I’d just like to share something my dad told me a while back which helped me: You should always focus on and use your strengths in your favor instead of just using your weaknesses as an excuse to not go for the things you want.

Q. How long will you remember us “Bgs Raw The imagz”?

Always 😃

Q. How will you recommend Bgs Raw as you already have been a success, and being on social media for a long time?

I’d say keep creating and providing value to people and you’re bound to succeed.

Q. Can you give any idea to upcoming aspirants about finance & marketing or even about becoming a travel blogger?

Haha yes, I’ve had jobs in finance, advertising, and marketing. Honestly, I don’t think I can fit my answer to that question in something less than a long essay but I’d just like to say that we’re blessed to be living in a day and age where it’s possible to make a living doing literally anything imaginable. While some jobs like finance and marketing are considered more secure and stable than jobs like YouTubing, it’s easier today to follow your passion than it was during our parents’ generation. So take advantage of that, and if you’re passionate about something, I think you should definitely give it a shot and go for it with everything you’ve got!

Q. Are you interested in any social camping and had you ever participated?

Yes, I’m all for protecting our environment, always have been. While I haven’t done anything on a large scale, I try to do my part in whatever small ways I can to contribute toward it.
