Pakistan banned Chinese short video app TikTok on Friday. The app is accused of spreading obscenity. The Pakistan Telecom Authority said it had received complaints from different sections of the society about “unethical” material on TikTok.
The regulator had given TikTok a final notice to follow guidelines to develop an active and effective monitoring system for its illegal online content.
